Mrs McAllister’s primary 7s have been very fortunate to start their latest STEM project using Raspberry Pis. The class hope to release a weather balloon (pending permission from C.A.A.) fitted with a tracker and cameras which they will programme and link to the Raspberry Pis. Images will be sent to ‘ground control’ and we will maybe find out ‘Where do balloons go?’
Here you can see the children planning the details of the balloon launch and the factors they will have to consider. Naturally, everyone is very excited to be part of the project, especially since this is the first of this kind in any primary school in Northern Ireland.
